You have been granted access to the NEIU Office 365 System. Our system requires multifactor authentication, so you must register your mobile phone with the NEIU Multifactor Authentication (MFA) system before proceeding. This does require you to download the free application onto your mobile device from your app store: Microsoft Authenticator.
Below is the procedure for registering your mobile phone.

ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Open Microsoft Edge and copy and paste this URL:
https://neiu.edu/office365
|

ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Log in with your NEIU NetID and password.
Please note that the format of your username MUST include the “@neiu.edu”

ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Choose NEXT on this next screen
|
 |
|
ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Once you have the application downloaded on your phone, click on NEXT on your computer screen.
|
|
|
ON YOUR PHONE:
If you haven’t already done so, you will need to download the app entitled
“Microsoft Authenticator”
It’s a free application.

|
ON YOUR COMPUTER:
On your computer screen, it will guide you through setting this registration with your mobile phone
|
 |
|
ON YOUR PHONE:
Download & Open the Microsoft Authenticator App.
Select the “+” sign in the top right corner
|
 |
|
ON YOUR PHONE:
Select “Work or school account”.
|
 |
|
ON YOUR PHONE:
Select Scan QR Code
Note: You may have to “allow” the app to use your camera on the phone.
|
 |
|
ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Choose NEXT to advance and the screen will display a QR Code:

You will then see:
|
|
ON YOUR PHONE:
Move your mobile phone’s camera to view the “QR code” located on your computer screen.
The camera will detect it and it will register the Microsoft Authenticator application.

ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Once it scans, on your computer screen wait until the “Let’s try it out” is ready,
ON YOUR PHONE:
You will then get a prompt on your mobile phone to enter the number that you see on your computer screen.
Enter this 2-digit number onto your phone and then select “Next” to continue on your computer screen.

ON YOUR COMPUTER:
Your computer screen will now show if the notification was approved.
|

ON YOUR COMPUTER:
To complete the registration, you must enter your mobile phone number in the field provided and then select to receive a code OR receive a phone call
|
 |
|
ON YOUR PHONE:
Check your text message OR answer the call.
A 6 digit code will be given to you that you MUST enter the code on your computer screen as shown to the right -------------------------------

Click NEXT

Click DONE
