CBT 114 Media Systems Instructions (Crestron) (Hybrid) (SN with Mac laptop)

CBT 114 Directions

  1. Be sure the computer is on or not in sleep mode.
  2. Tap on the Crestron touch screen.

  1. Give it a few seconds and home screen will appear. If not tap again
  2. Screen below will show up.

If doing Web video services be sure that the Room PC icon is tapped and highlighted.

If you want to do Web services tap on under the big Room PC icon

On the words “Conference Controls (press to control camera and rear display)

 This will take you to the camera control. See Conference controls further in the directions for more information.

 PLEASE NOTE:Camera and Mics can only be used with PC in room.

MICS are for web services only. They are not sound reinforcement mics.

Using the room equipment without web services.

Click on the device you would like to use.

ROOM PC

  1. Tap on the room Pc icon and the Room pc will show up on the projector screen.
  2. Be sure the computer is on and out of sleep mode.
  3. Log into the computer using your NEIU Log in.
  4. Room PC is set to extended view when using this laptop. PLEASE IF CHANGED, Change it back.

 

LAPTOP

  1. Connect your laptop using the guest HDMI Cable.

  1. Tap on the Laptop Icon on the touch screen.

Wireless presentation

Be sure to down load the air media app on the app store

  1. On the Touch screen click on the Wireless presentation Icon.

This screen will show up.

  1. On your device launch the downloaded app on the device or devices you are going to use.

Look on bottom of image.

  1. If using wireless connection type in http address that is shown.

Note code changing after each user.

  1. Type in Code when prompted to.

Your device should now be connected.

Doc Cam

  1. Tap on Doc cam Icon

  1. Tap the Power button on the Doc camera 

  1. Image should show up on screen
  2. Use zoom icon to zoom in and out. Use auto focus to let doc cam focus for you.
  3. Use bright + to brighten and – to decrease brightness.
  4. Be sure to push and hold the power button to turn off. Red is standby. Blue is on.

Note Option you can select Pc and launch image mate on the Elmo interaction tool box

MUTE

Tap on the Image mute Icon to mute image so it is not projected.

Systems Icon

Use this icon in order to temporally turn off the projector or Tv.

NOTE DO NOT USE THIS TO TURN OFF SYSTEM.

TURN OFF SYSTEM

  1. Touch the power icon in black in upper corner of touch screen.
  2. Please remember to be sure Doc cam is turn off. Red light off blue light on.
  3. Confirm shut down.

 

Web Conferencing controls

Be sure Room PC is on. Web services in rooms only work with ROOM PC. Cameras nor devices will work for guest laptop for these services.

  1. Be sure Room Pc is on.
  2. Be sure PC monitor is on.
  3. Log into your Zoom or google meets account. ALWAYS RUN A TEST OF CAMERA  AND SOUND TO BE SURE EQUIMENT IS WORKING CORRECTLY.
  4. Touch on ROOM PC icon on touch screen.
  5. Touch on  “Conference Controls (press to control camera and rear display)”

This room has 2 Camera in it. CAMERA 1 (Instructor camera) This Camera is aimed toward the front of the room to cover the lecture area. Camera 2 (Audience camera). This camera is aimed toward the students.

  1.  Tap which ever camera you would like to control.
  2.   Use the arrows icon on the touch panel to control the camera. Up to tilt camera up. Down to tilt camera to down. Left to move camera right. Right to move camera left. Use Zoom to zoom in + or Zoom out -.
  3.   If you wish to set up preset for the camera aim the camera into the position you want then hold down the Preset button you want it to be for 5 seconds and not it will remember the position of the camera you can do this for all 5 presets.
  4.   When you push the Confidence monitor icon this will display the device for the class room only and not on the web. It will show up on both TV and projector.
  5.   To project image through the web you most do this through the service being used. Example to have the doc cam shown through the web on zoom you have to go to the share tab on zoom and select Doc cam.
  6. To switch camera on web all you have to do is hit the camera that you want and the system will switch the camera for you on the web program.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOG OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT WHEN DONE AND TO TURN OFF THE SYSTEM WHEN FINSIHED>

 

TURN OFF SYSTEM

1. Touch the power icon in black in upper corner of touch screen.

2.  Please remember to be sure Doc cam is turn off. Red light off blue light on.

3.  Confirm shut down.

 HINT

You can do a work around to use the back TV for some equipment. If you go to the Room Pc Icon and tap it.

Then go to Conference Controls (press to control camera and rear display)and tap the words

The item in the listed under Confidence monitor will show up on the back TV. Just tap on the device you wish to show.

(SN) =SPECIAL NOTE:

When using a Mac with an M1 chip. You will come across audio issues when trying to play a video through the HDMI connection. Restart the laptop.
