      University Police Training Room     

To Use the Podium:

Step 1: Touch the Crestron touch screen anywhere to begin using the system.  It will take about 1 minute for the system to warm up.

Step 2Choose the source you need from the list at the top of the touchscreen.

SOURCES INCLUDE: VCR, DVD, DOCUMENT CAMERA, DEDICATED PC, LAPTOP CONNECTION@PODIUM, HDMI CONNECTION @ PODIUM, LAPTOP CONNECTION IN CENTER OF ROOM, AUDIO CONFERENCE, VIDEO CONFERENCE & CABLE TELEVISION.

Step 3Each time you select a source, you will need to choose which display to use: LCD display, Projector or Both.  This automatically turns on the display &/or lowers teh screen.  *If you ever wish to show two different displays at once, you can do so by selecting the LCD for one source and then projector for another.  In this example, you will only hear the audio from the last source selected.

 
 

Step 4:  You have various function controls for each device.  For example:

  • Cable Tv: You can change the channel via the Crestron touch screen.
  • Document Camera: Focus & Zoom in and out via the Crestron touch screen.
  • DVD: Navigate menus & control commands via the Crestron touch screen.
  • VCR: Play, Rewind, FF & Stop video via the Crestron touch screen.
  • Computer: Select which computer to view via the Crestron touch screen.
    • Wake the desktop PC from sleep by moving the mouse or using keyboard.
    • Use the cables provided on podium to connect a laptop to the system.
    • OR use the floor resevoir to connect an audience member to the system.
      • When connecting a Laptop Please remember to mirror your image by either pressing   FN+ F8 or  + P ( Select Mirror image).  If these options do not work you might have to go to Graphic display options and may need further help.  If so please contact us at the number below
  • Audio Conferencing: You can use the room microphones and speakers to telephone any outside line or campus extension.  Dial first, then press DIAL.
    • You must use the prefix 9 or a long distance code to dial outside lines.
 
 

Other Controls

  • Volume ( +, - or mute ): Located at the bottom/center of the Crestron touch screen.
  • Use ROOM button on lower left side of the Crestron touch screen to: override display power & raise or lower projector screen.
  • Manually raise or lower the projector screen with swithc located on the West wall.
  • Wireless touch panel can be removed and still function.  Please dock after finished.
  • Power switch on side of Crestron touch panel is used to sync device if signal is lost.
  • Directional buttons on side of Crestron touch panel have absolutely no function.

 

 

Shutdown (Always do this )

Step 1:  Press SHUTDWON button on lower right side of the Crestron touch screen.

Step 2:  Verify "YES" to start the cool down cycle.

Step 3:  The system will take about 1 minute to cool down. All displays will turn off.

Video Conferencing:

When you select video conferencing, you can contact any other video conferencing device allowable.  You will need either a phone number or an IP address.  You use the camera located on the front of the room to show yourself.  To see the other recipient, send the display to the projector or LCD.  You will also use the display to view your control options, what is diplayed & the status of your call.
