B 159 Media Systems Instructions (Crestron)

   AirMedia Wireless Presentaion

 

 

Crestron AirMedia allows you to wirelessly present PowerPoint, Excel, Word, PDF documents, photos and videos from your Android or iOS mobile device or from your laptop through the podiums projection system.  The system allows a single full-screen presentation or up to four multiplexed presentations to be diplayed using the Quad View.
To activate the AirMedia, touch the Crestron screen and select Airmedia under Sources.

Directions for Android & iOS:

Step 1:  Download and Install the Crestron AirMedia App from the Google Play Store (Android) or iTunes Store (iOS)

Step 2:  Once downloaded and installed, open the AirMedia App.

Step 3:  The App will automatically search for the AirMedia in that room.  If it does not find it, type the address on the screen in the app search bar (the string of numbers in

             parentheses).

Step 4:  When the connection is established, you are prompted to enter the "CODE" on the screen.

Step 5:  Select the content on your mobile device you would like to project.

*When finished projecting - Please close and disconnect the AirMedia app on your device.

Directions for Laptops (PC/Mac):

Step 1:  Connect to the University Wi-Fi network (NEIU) and open your Internet browser.

Step 2:  Type the address on the projector screen in the URL bar (the string of number in parentheses).

Step 3:  Download and install the client for you PC or Mac.

Step 4:  Once downloaded, installed and opened, you are prompted for the "CODE" on the screen.

Step 5:  Once you see that your device is mirrored onto the classroom display, select the content on your laptop to project.

*When finished projecting - Please close and disconnect the AirMedia app on your device.

To activate the podium, touch the Crestron screen.

Step 1:  Choose the Source you need from the list of icons.

*When you select your source, the projector will automatically turn on and the screen will go down.

Sources to Display:

  • Your personal laptop - HDMI or VGA.

The choice you make will depend on your laptop connections.  These cable are located in the reservoir in the top of the podium.  *We also provide an internet cable.

1. If using VGA connect the VGA cable to the laptop

2. Connect the mini plug cable to your headphone jack on your laptop

3. Push the VGA Icon on the Crestron.

4. Make sure laptop is powered on.

  • When connecting a laptop Please remember to mirror your image by either pressing FN + F8 or

+ P (Select Mirror image).  If these options do not work you might have to go to Graphic display options and may need further help. If so contact us at the number below

Mac users click the Mac symbol  choose System Preferences. Choose displays click arrangement tab. In lower left corner of the Arrangement panel select “Mirror displays”

5. If you wanted Wired internet connection. Connect the Ehternet cable to your laptop.

6. If you need help hooking up to our wireless access please click on the link Secured Wireless access or for General wireless information go to Wireless Wi-Fi/ VPN

  • PC:  This will show the installed computer.
  • Crestron AirMedia:  You can display your phone, tablet or laptop wirelessly. See above.
  • Blu Ray Player:  This is used to project or hear a Blue-Ray, DVD or CD.
  1. Make sure Blue Ray player is on
  2. Push Blue Ray Player Icon on the Crestron touch screen.
  3. Open Player drawer insert Disk.
  4. Close Player drawer.
  5. Use Icons on Crestron to operate Blue Ray Player.
  • Remember to remove the disk when finished and to turn back off the unit when finished.

Step 2:  Audio Control:  Sound of the source you select will automatically be sent to the speakers.  However, audio will always star out at zero.  You will need to raise the volume manually with the Volume Control + & - buttons on the bottom of the Crestron control screen.

 

*If you would like to send another sound source to the speakers,  press the button labeled AUDIO, which will change the Crestron control screen to select which device to hear.

  • For example You can listen to the front desk or an MP3 player with these speakers.
  • Microphone control:  Use the Mic Volume + & - buttons on the bottom of teh Crestron control screen.
  • You can Mute (turn off) the projector, raise or lower the projector screen via the Utilities screen.
  • At any time you wish to return to the main source selection screen, press the Presentation button on the upper right hand side of the Crestron control screen.
  • You can also send the audio from this podium to the Front Desk Audio System.

Turn the Podium Off (Always do this):

Step 1:  Log off computer. -or- Disconnect your personal device.

Step 2:   Press Shutdown button to the right of the Crestron screen.

Step 3:  Press  the RED Yes button to confirm he shut down.  This will automatically turn off the projector and raise the projector screen.

 

NOTE: If you do not have VGA you will need to get your own adapter. Click on the ADAPTERS link and you can see the different types of adaters that are available and will have to purchase.
