CBT 158 Media Systems Instructions (Crestron)

Use Crestron Touch panel on top of podium for all control.

1. Touch the Crestron screen.

Welcome Screen will show up.

     2. Press anywhere on the screen again. System will warm up.

Selection screen (MAIN MENU) will show up.

     3.  Push Icon of desired device.

• Screen
  • On the wall behind the podium between the door and the white board is the control to raise and lower the screen.

• Instructor Computer (PC)
  1. Make sure the monitor for computer is ON.
  2. Make sure PC is ON.
  3. If both devices are on move the mouse to wake up the computer if computer is on or touch the keyboard to wake up comptuer. Screen will come on with message on next step to do.
  4. Left click on mouse.
  5. Vara Lab screen will come up.
  6. Type in your Net ID to Log in and your Net ID password.
  7. Computer should finish loading.
  8. Push INSTRUCTOR COMPUTER on Crestron touch screen.

Note: To return to the Selection screen just push the RETURN TO MAIN Icon on the button on the lower right of the Crestron touch screen.  This will take you back to teh selection screen.

• Instructor Laptop
  1. Connect the VGA cable located on the podium to your laptop.
  2. Connect the mini audio cable to your headphone jack on your laptop.
  3. For Wired internet connection plug in the Ethernet cable into your laptop.
  4. If you hook up to our wireless access please click on link General Wireless access. If you are try to connect to Unsecured wireless access click on this link Open wired access. We suggest this link.

                 3. Connect Ethernet cable to your laptop for wired internet access.

                 4. Push INSTRUCTOR LAPTOP Icon on the Crestron touch screen.

                 5. Turn on your Laptop.

• When connecting a laptop Please remember to mirror your image by either pressing FN + F8 or  + P ( Select Mirror image).If these options do not work you might have to go to Graphic display options and may need further help.If so contact us at the number below.
• Mac users click the Mac symbol  choose System Preferences. Choose displays click arrangement tab. In lower left corner of the Arrangement pane select “Mirror displays”

Note: To return to the Selection screen just push the RETURN TO MAIN Icon on the button on the lower right of the Crestron touch screen.  This will take you back to teh selection screen.

NOTE: If you do not have VGA you will need to get your own adapter. Click on the ADAPTERS link and you can see the different types of adapters that are available and will have to purchase.

• Document Camera

1. If the Doc Camera is folded unfold the Doc camera.
2. Move up each light arm.
3. Then Click the release button to bring the camera into its up position.

     4. Turn on the power to the Doc Camera.

     5. Push the DOCUMENT CAMERA Icon on the Crestron touch screen.

Note: To return to the Selection screen just push the RETURN TO MAIN Icon on the button on the lower right of the Crestron touch screen.  This will take you back to teh selection screen.

• DVD/VHS
  • DVD
    1. Push the DVD Icon on the Crestron control panel.  THe Unit should automatically go ON and the Source button on the deck should go to DVD. If not be sure the power is ON and the DVD/VHS desk this happened.
    2. Push the Open/Close button on the deck.
    3. Insert disk int tray.
    4. Use the Crestron touch screen to control the DVD deck. Play, Stop, Pause, Skip back, Skip forward, Scan back, Scan forward, Top menu, Menu. Use arrow keys to guide you through the menu optons.

Note: To return to the Selection screen just push the RETURN TO MAIN Icon on the button on the lower right of the Crestron touch screen.  This will take you back to teh selection screen.

• VCR
  1. Push the VCR Icon on the Crestron control panel.The Unit should automatically go on and the Source button on the deck should go to DVD. If not be sure the power is on and on the DVD/VHS deck this has happened.
  2. Insert your VHS tape.
  3. Use the Crestron touch screen to control the VHS deck.

Note: To return to the Selection screen just push the RETURN TO MAIN Icon on the button lower right of the Crestron touch screen.  This will take you back to the selection screen.

• Volume Control
  1. To use the Volume on the Crestron Push the Arrow icon on the far right to raise and lower the volume.
  2. This option is shown on all devices screens on the touch screen.
  3. Push the Up Arrow on the Crestron to raise the volume.

                4. Push the Down Arrow on the Crestron to lower the volume.

To MUTE the sound you can push the MUTE on the Crestron lower right corner of the screen this will mute the sound. Remember to UNMUTE ocen down. UNMUTE by pushing MUTE button a second time.

• SHUT DOWN (ALWAYS do this at the end of your class)
  1. Turn off all devices that were used.
  2. Push the SHUT DOWN Icon on the Crestron touch screen. (Located on the lower left)
  3. Push YES to confirm shut down.

PLEASE SHUT DOWN THE PROJECTOR AT THE END OF CLASS!
