Problem: Launching a Microsoft Office app returns an error message:
“Run-time error ’53’: File not found: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/MACPDFM/MacPDFM.framework/Versions/A/MacPDFM”
Solution:
In the Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu. Select Library. The hidden Library folder should appear on the screen.
1. Go to the following location on the computer:
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word
And delete the file linkCreation.dotm .
2. Go to the following location on the computer:
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/PowerPoint
And delete the file SaveAsAdobePDF.ppam .
3. Go to the following location on the computer:
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Excel
And delete the file SaveAsAdobePDF.xlam .
4. Launch Excel and go to the menu Tools -> Excel Add-ins... and remove the Save as Adobe PDF add-in by unchecking it and removing it with the minus (-) button. Then click OK.
5. Launch PowerPoint and go to the menu Tools -> PowerPoint Add-ins… and remove the Save as Adobe PDF add-in by unchecking it and removing it with the minus (-) button. Then click OK.
6. Quit the office apps and restart them.
