BBH 102 Media Systems Instructions ( Hybrid room)

BBH 102 Podium Instructions

When entering the room you will find the controls for the lights for the room on the left side of the room (if facing the students). Use the light switches to get the lighting to your needs.

 

      1.) Be sure any equipment that you are using is on. ( Example: PC, Monitors for PC)

       2) Push the power button on the Crestron touch panel.

       3) Turn on the PC

 

This symbol     on upper corner of touch screen.

If the power button does not respond tap the touch screen.

Once ON the Welcome screen will show. ( image above is Welcome screen)

      3) Touch the screen anywhere on the Crestron touch screen and this will give you the Presentation menu.

NOTE: In this room you have 2 options to project your devices too. One option is the main projector. It is the projector located in the center of the room. The second is the Secondary projector located to the right (when looking at the students). You can have 2 devices projecting at the same time if you wish. ( Example Main Projector doc camera, Secondary Projector Blu-ray)

SOUND

When doing sound for projector 2 (one on right) you will have to select the audio source.

tape the audio Icon on the crestron touch screen select which device you would like the audio to go to the audio system.

If doing just one projector (projector 1) this will be done automatically.

Doc camera: This can be used to display objector or printed text onto the screen. Other features you can also use it to record your presentation (for this option contact Media services and we would be happy to show you how this works outside of your class time)

  1. When using the Doc camera make sure the unit is on. The unit is usually left on and should be lite blue.
  2. Push on the Crestron touch screen the Doc camera icon. Push it to which ever display you would like the image to go. Once pushed the screen will automatically come down.
  3. Place the item you want under the Doc camera it will show up on that screen.
  4. To Zoom in our out use the knob on the upper side of the Doc camera.
  5. If the image is dark you can turn on the light by pushing the light switch to the On position.

Note: This Doc camera has more features if you want to learn more contact Media services and we will be happy to teach you how any of the equipment works outside of class time.

Blu-ray : This is used to play DVD, Blu-rays or Cds.

  1. When using the Blu-ray player make sure the unit is on.
  2. Push the open button to insert you DVD or Blue ray into the machine. Gently push in or push the eject botton on the Touch panel and the disk should go into the unit. If not push the Open close button again.
  3. Push on the Crestron touch screen the Blu-ray icon. Push it to which ever source you would like the image to go. Either Main or secondary. Once pushed the image will go to that projector and the screen will automatically come down.
  4. Use the control on the touch screen to control the Blu-ray player.

 

Remember to take out your Disc when you are finished and to turn off the blu-ray when you are done.

Air media (Wireless Presentation)

Air Media allows you to wirelessly present documents, photos and videos from your Android or iOS mobile device or laptop onto the TV.  The system allows a single full-screen presentation or up to four shared presentations to be displayed.

  1. Push the Air Media Icon on the touch screen for which ever projector you wish to use. Main or Secondary. Air media will show up on the screen.

Directions for Laptops (PC/Mac):

Step 1:  Connect to the University's Wi-Fi unsecured network and open your Internet browser.

Step 2:  Type the address on the Projector screen in the URL bar of your wireless device. (The string of numbers in parentheses)

Step 3: Download and install the client for you PC or Mac.

Step 4:  Once downloaded, installed and opened, you are prompted for the "CODE" on the screen.

Step 5: Once you see that the content on your laptop device is mirrored onto the classroom display, beware, everything that you see on your computer screen, viewers will also see.

Step 6: Sometimes MAC laptops require that you set your sound preference to the Airmedia plug-in, which is called SOUNDFLOWER.

 

You may now begin your presentation

* When finished presenting - Close and Disconnect the Air Media on your wireless device

ALTERNATE FUNCTION INSTRUCTIONS

 

Using the Quad View

Step 1:  Using the Airmedia app display, select which section of the screen you would like to display on.

Step 2:  Other users must login using the same process as you did and then select which portion of the screen they wish to use.

*Note to use: When using quad view sound is disabled.

Directions for Presenting with Android & iOS devices

(Doesn't support video or content protected media)

Step 1:  Download and Install the Crestron Air Media App from the Google Play Store (Android) or iTunes Store (iOS).

Step 2:  Once downloaded and installed, open the Air Media App.

Step 3:  The app will automatically search for the Air Media in that room.  If it does not find it, type the address on the screen in the app search bar. (The string of numbers in parentheses)

Step 4:  When the connection is established, you are prompted to enter the "CODE" on the screen.

Step 5:  Select the content (ONLY IMAGES AND FINISHED DOCUMENTS) from your mobile device you would like to project.

If you wish to invite viewer from afar to monitor you presentation, they are permitted to view snapshots (refreshed every 10 seconds) of the visual aspect of your presentation via a website.

Step 1: Provide invitees with the address on the TV screen in the URL bar. (The string of numbers in parentheses)

Step 2: They must login the same way you did with the provided URL

*When finished presenting - Close and Disconnect the Air Media app on your device.

Laptop ( Your laptop)

VGA

  1. Connect the VGA cable located on the podium to your laptop.
  2. Connect mini audio cable to your headphone jack on your laptop. 
  3. For Wired internet connection plug in the Ethernet cable into your laptop.
  4. If you need help hooking up to our wireless access please click on the link Secured Wireless access or for General wireless information go to Wireless Wi-Fi/ VPN
  5. Push the VGA Icon on the touch screen on which ever projector you choose to use.
  6. Power on Laptop.
  7. When connecting a laptop Please remember to mirror your image by either pressing FN + F8 or 

+ P (Select Mirror image).If these options do not work you might have to go to Graphic display options and may need further help. If so contact us at the number below.

Mac users click the Mac symbol  choose System Preferences. Choose displays click arrangement tab. In lower left corner of the Arrangement panel select “Mirror displays”

LAPTOP HDMI

  1. Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop.

  1. For wired internet connection plug in the Ethernet cable into your laptop. 
  2. Push the HDMI Icon on the Crestron touch screen for which ever projector you wish to use.
  3. Turn on your laptop.

NOTE: If you do not have HDMI or VGA port you will need to get your own adapter. Click on the ADAPTERS link and you can see the different types of adapters that are available. ADAPTERS.

PC (room PC)

  1. Turn on both monitors
  2. Turn on the PC.
  3. If you are not using your log in on the computer then please do the following. When the windows screen pops up on the screen. Use the mouse and put the arrow on Computer only log in and right click on the mouse. The log in screen will now show fac-staff. Now just hit the enter key on the keyboard.
  4. On the Crestron touch screen touch the PC Icon on which ever projector you want to show the PC on.

Extended Desktop: This is a feature for the Pc that allow you to extend the PC screens onto one of the projector screens.

  1. Push the PC Icon to put one image on one projector and then
  2. Push the EXTENDED DESKTOP Icon on the other to extend the image to the other projector or on the main projector by pushing extend icon on the main projector side of the crestron touch screen..

MIC

  1. When using the mic you can control the volume by pushing the + icon on the bottom of the touch screen to increase the Mic volume or – Icon when decreasing the mic volume.
  2. You can also Mute the mic by pressing the MUTE icon on the touch screen panel. Remember to push the Mute button again if you wish to turn the mic back on.

Utilities: This can be used to control the screens and projectors individual in case you changed your mind on your set up.

  1. Main Screen if you decide that the middle screen is blocking the white board that you are trying to write on, you can rise up the screen by pushing the Utilities Icon on the top of the Home screen. Once you push this Icon another screen will pop up with option for screens and projectors.
  2. Use the up Icon under the desired screen you wish to rise and the screen will rise up or down if pushing the Down Icon.
  3. If you wish to turn off one of the projectors push the Proj off and this will turn off the Proj. Press Proj On Icon to turn it back on.

 Please note is does take some time to power up and down the projectors this is not a quick option.

 

CAMERA: This camera is meant to be used for zoom or google meets programs.

The Camera is located in the back of the room. Use the remote to control the camera

Log into your zoom session be sure that the Vaddio camera is selected.

Use the up, down, left and right arrow keys to move the image. This camera is a stationary camera and does not move. The movement is digital.

Use the zoom in and out button to zoom the image in and out.

Use preset to program the camera to preset camera shots that you want so make camera adjustment easier.

 

SHUT DOWN

PLEASE REMEMBER TO TURN OFF ALL EQUIPMENT WHEN FINISHED.

If you hand turned something on please remember to turn it back off.

To shut down the Crestron system Please click on the SHUTDOWN Icon on the touch screen.

Once you push this Icon another screen will come up.

Push YES Icon to confirm shut down. And the system will power down.
